Running to Win!

“Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.” 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 NLT

Apostle Paul likens the Christian journey to running a race, knowing there’s an eternal prize at the end. The beauty of the way God has designed this race is that everyone has the opportunity to win their own individual race, so we’re not competing with one another. Rather we can win by working together.

Even though we are all in a race, the truth is not everyone is necessarily running to win. Some are content with just participating. However, if your desire is not just show up, but to finish and finish strong, then there are some spiritual disciplines that can’t be ignored.

This series we’re looking at those disciplines and how to be consistent with them.

May we all finish strong. Click Here to download the study.

Spending Time With God

‘And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.”’ Exodus 33:14-15

In the conversation Moses was having with the Lord about taking the Israelites into the promised land, Moses made a very interesting statement – he wasn’t willing to make a move if God wasn’t going to be with them. Clearly Moses knew something about the difference God’s presence would make in the outcome of their journey. Being that Moses was one of the people recorded in the Bible to have spent a significant amount of time with God, he must have observed something that informed this statement.

Apart from Moses, we also see examples in the Bible of other people who intentionally spent time with God and the difference it made in their lives.

This series we’re looking at the difference spending time in the presence of God makes in the life of the believer. We pray this series will bless you and encourage you to be intentional about prioritizing time spent with God. Click Here to download the study

Spiritual Accuracy

‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.’ Psalms 32:8

One of the things that Jesus clearly illustrated by during His earthly ministry was impeccable timing – He was always at the right place at the right time. And everything He did was in line with what the Father expected of Him at the time. This didn’t happen by chance and it wasn’t just because He’s the son of God. There’s an enablement we have as believers though the power of the Holy Spirit to walk in accuracy – both physically and spiritually.

We recognize that what is unseen is more potent than what is unseen (2 Corinthians 4:18), and the same way there are times, seasons, opportunities etc. in the natural these also exist in the spiritual. It’s one thing to be aware this, and another to walk accurately with full understanding of how to navigate accurately with this knowledge.

This series we’re looking at how to be spiritually accurate by the power of the Holy Spirit. Our prayer is that the Lord will use this to open our eyes and ears and sharpen our accuracy so our lives will reflect what heaven expects of us per time. Click here to download the study.
